Challenge Discovery Facilitator Job Description/Expectations
At Challenge Discovery, we offer two part-time employment opportunities. At both of our facilities, University of Richmond and Doswell (near Kings Dominion) our facilitators lead teams of about 10-15 participants from corporations and community organizations in teambuilding initiatives. In this role, our facilitators present a variety of activities including problem-solving exercises and high challenge initiatives. Facilitators also lead debriefing sessions after the exercises intended to explore group dynamics and connect team members' experiences to real life situations at home, work or school. Challenge Discovery holds its team members to exceptionally high standards of professional performance. While prior challenge course experience is not necessary, all facilitators must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to learn and apply technical skills.

The Odyssey Course at University of Richmond
The facility at UR includes our Odyssey Course, a two-level high ropes course that is more than a football field in length. In addition, we augment the high ropes course with a variety of portable team activities.

Requirements:

Min. 18 years of age
Successful completion of 20-hour training program
Weekday/Weekend/Evening availability (especially Fridays)
One-year commitment to Challenge Discovery
Must be comfortable working at heights up to 50 ft.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Pay rate $10 per hour

The Challenge Course at Doswell (near Kings Dominion)
The facility at Doswell includes more than 10 different high events and more than 15 low team initiatives along with portable activities. Due to the shear volume and complexity of the activities at Doswell the requirements are greater than those at UR.

Requirements:
Min. 22 years of age
Successful completion of 40-hour training program
Weekday/Weekend availability
One-year commitment to Challenge Discovery
Must be comfortable working at heights up to 50 ft.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

Per Diem Rate:
$100 per half-day program (7 hours)
$150 per full-day program (10 hours)
Approximate hourly wage = $15 per hour
