TeamOdyssey is an exhilarating experience that combines group development initiatives on the ground with team-centered climbing activities on the Odyssey High Ropes Course at the University of Richmond. Much more than just a physical challenge, TeamOdyssey is a challenging yet inclusive experience that forges permanent bonds among participants. TeamOdyssey’s programs are designed for young people from middle school through college. Activities are aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning to reinforce concepts students are learning in the classroom.

The Common Ground program promotes diversity, respect, empathy and building meaningful relationships through inclusive activities and reflection. The problem-solving initiatives presented require clear communication, social engagement and effective teamwork. Through carefully timed “interventions” and debriefs, participants are reminded to be mindful of how they are influencing the group process.

Challenge Discovery is working hard to stay informed, by following protocol and guidelines from the Governor, the CDC, and University of Richmond Interim Policies. We have postponed all TeamOdyssey (ropes course) programs until further notice.
In times like these, it is important to stay connected to one another. We have been considering how WE can be a part of this by helping our clients and the Richmond community to stay connected. In response to the need to continue to connect remotely, we have developed a program, called Virtual Teams, which allows groups to connect virtually, via video conference. We are also delivering our COMMON GROUND program using COVID-19 friendly activities in which students stay 6 ft. apart. Both programs are available at only $20 per person.
Please do your part and follow all CDC guidelines so that we can get past this pandemic, and find ourselves learning from one another, side-by-side again, very soon!
